Sheron Shamuilia
Trainee Patent attorney
Dr. Sheron Shamuilia is Belgian and graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) in Acoustics, modeling surface waves for biosensor devices in close collaboration with IMEC. Under the direct supervision of prof. A. Stesmans and prof. V. V. Afanasiev she finalized her Ph.D. in Semiconductor Physics at that same university again in close collaboration with IMEC.
Experience
After a short period as research & method engineer for ICOS vision systems (now KLA Tencor), Sheron started as a post-doc scientific member at the Metals and Applied Materials Department of the KUL, where she was examining the use of biobased polymers in PCB boards in order to make the electric and electronic recycling more sustainable. In addition she was the innovation advisor of the innovative materials library MateriO Belgium. Sheron speaks Dutch, English, French, Persian and Hebrew.
Sheron has particular interests and knowledge in solid state physics, optics, (biobased) composites, technical textiles and the processing and evaluation of electronic devices such as CMOS, MIM, MOSFET, memory devices, photovoltaic devices, etc. In particular devices containing high-k nanolayers, low-k interconnects, and high mobility substrates.
