Dr. Dirk Wante is Belgian and obtained his PhD at the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Ghent, Belgium.

 

Experience

After his PhD he joined the Patent Department of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV where he gained extensive experience in the area of pharmaceutical patenting. He then moved to the Johnson & Johnson Brussels patent group where he handled patent matters in the consumer sector and subsequently joined the Patent Department of Tibotec-Virco, a company specialized in virology.

Dirk Wante has particular knowledge in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and general chemistry and has experience in prosecution and drafting of patent applications, patent enforcement, IP portfolio management, and IP contracts . As a European Patent Attorney at BIRD GOËN & Co since 2010, he is mainly involved in the area of pharmaceuticals.
